Innovation isn’t just limited to a specific industry or functional business area. Innovation is expansive in the sense that nearly all organizations and verticals can benefit from its relative and progressive technological power. Managed Service Provider (MSP) KellyOCG understands that innovation is a foundational element within the Future of Work movement, a factor that is wholly evident in its recent product launch event, “Kelly Ignite,” which was rescheduled (understandably so, in the wake of the global pandemic) from a live event in Detroit to an on-demand virtual experience.

Looking at the totality of innovation in the business world, there are a myriad of outlets sparking the next great era of technology, from artificial intelligence becoming more ubiquitous, the continued efforts for technology companies to get back into space, the evolution of biosciences and biotechnology, and “connected cities.”

“There’s something in there that Kelly can focus on in a very unique way,” said Ed Pederson, Vice President of Product Development at KellyOCG. “We can mirror and match those [innovation] trends with an up-and-coming workforce that is needed to support those advancements.” Pederson added that the concept of “Human Agility” was a key theme for Kelly in 2020 and beyond.

Pederson noted that specific clients, such as Ford, would be reimagining their talent strategies based on the needs for more advanced skillsets as they begin to manufacture autonomous vehicles and higher-tech hardware for its fleet. “They needed completely different skillsets than what they had today,” Pederson said. “A base layer of “sustainability” was needed, and, to achieve their aspirational objectives, they needed a mechanism to support that labor strategy.”

Through the concept of “Human Agility,” Kelly would be able to help Ford “stair-step” into these changing skillsets by providing a layer of sustainability within its total workforce model. In fact, the “talent piece” of the Human Agility concept revolves around the ability to keep up with the ever-changing need for workers to update and evolve their skillsets. Pederson explained that Kelly will support reskilling opportunities for its clients’ workers to help them remain relevant, and, most importantly, create momentum for customers.

Other highlights of the product launch include:

  • The introduction of Kelly’s new Human Cloud solution. Digital and on-demand staffing continues its torrid growth pace, as Ardent expects these platforms to build on its more than 350% growth in utilization over the past several years. Kelly’s new Human Cloud solution is a “talent aggregator” that provides users with a single simple, streamlined interface from which to engage highly-skilled, top-tier talent. The solution, which will blend its MSP offering with several digital staffing networks, was designed to help facilitate an enhanced talent engagement experience that promotes the best-possible alignment between enterprise needs and available skillsets. “Kelly´s Human Cloud Solution recommends and aggregates the best Human Cloud platforms based on the client´s unique talent demand and significantly reduces complexity for hiring managers when engaging gig talent,” Tim Proehm, Vice President, Digital Product Development, Global Marketing, told us.
  • A new approach towards “total talent management.” “Total talent management is not a product, but more of a journey that our customers will experience,” said Pederson, noting that Kelly’s approach includes talent pool curation/development (of silver medalists and other known talent), supporting internal mobility, mixing various talent sources into talent acquisition strategies, driving towards better business outcomes, and providing seamless support around SOW and services procurement (and, most importantly, augmenting all of these strategies with automation and innovation, including artificial intelligence).
  • An identity management solution (IDM) that will help mitigate access risks. One of the more unheralded pieces of contingent workforce management is the art of identity management. Access to business infrastructure, systems, data, and intellectual property should be a top-of-mind concern for organizations today, especially given the sheer volume of non-employee workers currently being leveraged. KellyOCG’s new IDM solution provides a central platform for users to track and monitor which workers have access to building, systems, and infrastructure, while also auto-generating reminders and updates for enhanced visibility and control.

“Our clients are adapting to changing workforce strategies, including new technology and innovation (such as AI),” said Pederson. “We want them to come into a place that cares for them and can nurture and guide them into a better connection point: talent and our customers converge together and find exactly what they need.”
