Jaggaer REVs its Engines for an Intelligent eProcurement Tool
At JAGGAER‘s REV2018 user conference at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas this week, the North Carolina-based provider of source-to-settle solutions made an exciting announcement: that it is developing an intelligent eProcurement tool that it claims will streamline and enhance the user’s purchasing experience. Incorporating customer feedback, particularly among the education and commercial sectors, Jaggaer’s eProcurement tool, as envisioned, will incorporate an intuitive user interface that will enable users to go to multiple platforms, hosted catalogs, and punch-out catalogs to compare products and prices. It will also feature automated commodity purchasing, category management, stock replenishment, and strategic purchasing. And importantly, it will feature cognitive search and purchasing capabilities that ought to result in “two clicks and a buy.” Jaggaer plans to roll out its intelligent eProcurement tool to its platform as well as its mobile app, and give users a familiar option to make purchases in the palm of their hands.
Announcing Beeline One, a Converged VMS Platform from Beeline
Beeline, one of the largest providers of VMS technology, held its annual user conference at the Omni Plantation Resort on beautiful Amelia Island (near Jacksonville, Florida) last week. Ardent Partners’ Research Director and VP of Research, Christopher J. Dwyer, was in attendance. According to Chris, the highlight of the event was the announcement of Beeline One, the provider’s new unified interface that is essentially the culmination of over a year of work on the “Horizon” project, the company’s microservices approach towards unifying all of the software architecture (artificial intelligence, data, core services, etc.) that runs Beeline’s wide range of functionality, including both the Beeline VMS and IQNavigator VMS platforms.
Beeline’s SVP of Strategy, Colleen Tiner, announced that the year-long project was finally complete, and would allow its users a single, unified access portal with a single login. From Beeline Assistant (the platform’s AI-enabled assistant) and its Credible hub to the core functionality of both VMS platforms (including its SmartView analytics, services procurement/SOW tool, and the Rate, Time, and Expense (RTE) offering), Beeline One will allow all of the solution’s users a single access point to all of the software’s main features. As Tiner had also mentioned, Beeline One enables something that supports the notion of business agility: the ability to “search without boundaries.”
Amazon Web Services Now Features FICO Procurement Fraud Identification
Last week, FICO (NYSE: FICO), the San Jose, California-based provider of data analytics software, announced that it has integrated its FICO Falcon Assurance Navigator software onto Amazon Web Services in an effort to help enterprise procurement teams fight abuse, fraud, and maverick spending. With FICO Falcon now integrated onto Amazon Web Services, the software will apply its advanced data analytics at scale to a wide spectrum of purchasing and payment activities to audit purchases and payments and catch fraudulent, abusive, or maverick spending. These range from the purchase itself to the purchase order, requisition, invoices and requests, payments, travel and entertainment expenses, and purchasing and travel cards. With FICO Falcon running in the background, enterprise procurement teams can automatically and seamlessly engage in auditing and risk management activities on all categories of spend and cover the entire field of play, rather than pulling out suspected purchases or conducting random audits.
FourKites Boosts Supply Chain Risk Management with Weather Intelligence
Ardent Partners recently learned of an interesting development from FourKites, a Chicago-based provider of supply chain intelligence and analytics solutions. It informed us yesterday that it recently integrated its Predictive Weather Intelligence overlay onto its supply chain risk management application to help procurement, supply chain, and third-party logistical teams see in near real time weather patterns and projected impacts of severe weather along supply chains. The system analyzes Doppler readings every six minutes and weather forecasts every 15 minutes to model projected impact to supply chains of severe weather events and that ultimately allows teams to plan shipments around them.
ShipChain Partners with CaseStack to Drive Supply Chain Track and Trace
In other news, Los Angeles-based shipping and logistics solutions provider, ShipChain, has partnered with Arkansas-Based supply chain management provider, CaseStack, to bring track and trace capabilities to its services. Under the terms of the partnership, CaseStack will integrate ShipChain’s open, Blockchain-based supply chain management platform in order to track and trace millions of loads of goods that CaseStack processes on a yearly basis. It will enable CaseStack to provide end-to-end supply chain visibility and assurance into its services.
