It’s been said here frequently that the contingent workforce industry is rapidly-changing and evolving at such a rate that enterprises must consistently reevaluate their strategies for managing contract talent. New concepts, unique notions, updated technologies and solutions…these are just a few of the aspects that are contributing to the evolution of contemporary contingent workforce management. What’s truly interesting about the contingent workforce space is the complete revolution that is occurring right now. It’s always quite exciting to be part of such a dramatic shift.

We work hard to analyze and report what is happening today so that our readers can anticipate tomorrow. On that exact point, I encourage you to join DCRWorkforce and I for a webinar focused on the future of the contingent workforce industry. The event, which will be held at 1:00pm Eastern on November 13, will focus on a variety of factors that are playing into the current perception of contingent workforce management, as well as the several key items that will not only alter the technological landscape of the industry, but will become key cogs in the CWM programs of the future.

Why attend this webcast? If you want to learn how contract talent management will change now and over the next four-to-five years, it’s imperative that you join us. Here are just four of the many items that I plan to cover in next week’s webinar:

  • Concepts that are just beginning to take shape now that will dominate the future. We all realize the strategic importance of the contingent workforce umbrella. While the umbrella has been in place for a few years and will continue to evolve as organizational focus shifts more and more to SOW-based projects and services, there are growing concepts in the industry that will be just as critical in the future, such as “eWaas” and total talent management.
  • The next iterations of today’s technology solutions and software. We’re starting to cover this aspect in a series of “next generation” technology-focused articles that will highlight how the major solutions in the CWM space will evolve (part one, tackling VMS, is available here). How will today’s solutions look tomorrow? Which capabilities will be enhanced, and which will evolve to reflect the future of the contingent workforce industry? Which solutions will borrow forward-thinking concepts to improve their functionality?
  • Why the current perception of CWM will be much different only a few years from now. It’s a been a steady climb for the industry over the past five years, with the strategic importance of the category coming to light after an economic recession, subsequent recovery and an uptick in higher-quality talent only available via freelancers and contractors. Is there a shift ahead in the perception of contract talent? Will enterprises rely even more on contingent labor? And, if so, will this change how we view this critical category?
  • Potential game-changers that we don’t anticipate. There are always the “wild cards” that play a role in the future of any industry, ones that shake up the market and force organizations to reevaluate their current programs. Are there any of these potential game-changers up ahead for the contingent workforce industry? If there are…what are they? Is a technology offering? Is there a new, as-of-yet-unheralded strategy that will cause a shift?

Click here to register for the webcast. I look forward to seeing you there!
