Michael Lovati Takes the Helm as CPO for Volvo Group
GOTHENBURG, Sweden — In his LinkedIn post, Michael Lovati announcement that he’s taking the helm as Volvo Group’s chief purchasing officer.
According to Lovati, “Our industry is in a time of rapid change, and, while there are plenty of uncertainties and challenges facing us, there are also great opportunities. Transportation and infrastructure are at the heart of society, touching all of our lives every day.”

PowerCo Appoints Alexander Schmitt as CPO
SALZGITTER, Germany — PowerCo SE announced Alexander Schmitt as its new chief procurement officer and member of the executive board. He will be responsible for the entire procurement of raw materials, components and equipment as well as supplier management and value engineering.
According to Thomas Schmall, chairman of the supervisory board of PowerCo SE, “With Alexander Schmitt, we have been able to win an absolute top expert in the raw materials sector,” Schmall said.
“He has many years of international experience in the raw materials business and knows the industry in every detail. Under his leadership, we will continue to expand and strengthen PowerCo’s global supplier network.”

UC Riverside Announces Jeremy Meadows as CPO
RIVERSIDE, CA — UC Riverside announced the appointment of Jeremy Meadows as chief procurement officer.
The university stated that Meadows brings extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement across healthcare and higher education. He looks forward to partnering with the campus community to strengthen a procurement program grounded in partnership, stewardship, and innovation.

Duke Energy Appoints Katie Aittola as SVP, Supply Chain and Real Estate, and CPO
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Duke Energy announced that Katie Aittola is now serving as senior vice president, supply chain and real estate, and chief procurement officer.
The company stated that Aittola will lead sourcing and supply chain functions for the enterprise. She will also oversee the company’s real estate function, responsible for strategic planning, transactions and facilities management in support of energy delivery across Duke Energy’s service territory.
According to Bonnie Titone, executive vice president and chief administrative officer, “Katie brings to the role a depth of experience with strategic planning, operational transformation and enterprise leadership,” she said.
“She is a true cross-functional leader and well positioned to oversee these operations, which are crucial to our success as we undertake the largest generation build in our company’s history.”

Thomas W. Derry Leaves ISM After 13 Years
TEMPE, AZ — The Institute for Supply Management announced that Thomas W. Derry will be leaving his role as the organization’s CEO after 13 years at the helm.
ISM’s Board of Directors has appointed Debbie Fogel Monnissen to serve as interim CEO during the transition.
