Scott Schlotthauer Named CPO for Oklahoma State University
STILLWATER, Oklahoma — Oklahoma State University announced that Scott Schlotthauer has been named associate vice president and chief procurement officer.
The school stated that Schlotthauer rejoins OSU after serving as associate vice president and chief procurement officer at the University of Oklahoma. Previously, he served OSU as chief procurement officer for 10 years and, prior to that, as the purchasing director for the State of Oklahoma for five years.
According to Schlotthauer, “OSU procurement has a strong track record of performance in adding value, compliance and enhancing efficiency,” he said. “I look forward to rejoining a great team and facilitating the process of continuous improvement.
“I believe the OSU and A&M System centralization of procurement services and the consolidated financial platform is a competitive advantage that will enable the five Oklahoma land-grant colleges and universities to thrive into the future.”

Matthew Novak Appointed CSCO for Fortune Brands
DEERFIELD, Illinois — Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc., an industry-leading innovation company whose purpose is to elevate every life by transforming spaces into havens, announced that Matthew Novak was appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as executive vice president and chief supply chain officer.
The company stated that Novak will be responsible for driving Fortune Brands’ global operations, including strategic sourcing; manufacturing efficiency and capacity; distribution, planning and logistics; and health and safety. He has over 25 years of experience in driving supply chain excellence and operational optimization, including implementing enterprise systems that streamline processes and improve efficiency.

JR Automation Names Doug LaCroix as CPO in Newly Created Role
HOLLAND, Michigan — JR Automation, a global leader in smart manufacturing solutions, announced new roles of Chief Procurement Officer and Chief Strategy Officer as part of a matrix-based organizational change to enhance global capabilities and maintain local operations.
The company stated that under the new organizational structure, functional teams are tasked with identifying innovative technologies, capabilities, and partnerships that are needed to meet evolving industry and customer needs. Functional leadership includes the newly created role of CPO, held by Doug LaCroix.

White House Executive Order Targets Federal Procurement Policy
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House issued a statement about the significant overhaul of the United State’s Federal Procurement Policy. In an Executive Order titled “Restoring Common Sense to Federal Procurement,” the new policy aims to eliminate costs and inefficiency in federal procurement under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
The Executive Order states in Section 2 of the purpose of the Policy: “It is the policy of the United States to create the most agile, effective, and efficient procurement system possible. Removing undue barriers, such as unnecessary regulations, while simultaneously allowing for the expansion of the national and defense industrial bases is paramount. Accordingly, the FAR should contain only provisions required by statute or essential to sound procurement, and any FAR provisions that do not advance these objectives should be removed.”
