2024 Procurement Executive Promotions
Eric Galkin Promoted to CSCO at Paris Baguette
MOONACHIE, N.J. — Paris Baguette announced five internal promotions to its leadership team, including the chief supply chain officer role.
The company shared that Eric Galkin has transitioned from vice president of supply chain management to chief supply chain officer. With three decades of experience in several high-end procurement and supply chain operations, Galkin led initiatives for multiple organizations including OTG Management, Delaware North’s patina restaurant group, and farm-to-table pioneer distributor D’artagnan Inc.
According to CEO Darren Tipton, “2023 was an incredible year for growth in the Paris Baguette system, and with another big year ahead of us, it was only fitting to both celebrate these successes and prepare for ongoing growth by recognizing those who have played crucial roles all along,” he said.

Scooter’s Coffee Promotes Nick Jarecke to CSCO
OMAHA, Neb. — Scooter’s Coffee, best known for its fast drive-thru and specialty coffee, announced the promotion of Nick Jarecke to chief supply chain officer. He takes over Harvest Roasting, the backbone of Scooter’s Coffee’s vertically integrated supply chain model and the key differentiator for the coffee franchise.
The company stated that Jarecke joined Scooter’s Coffee in 2019 as vice president of supply chain. While navigating complex economic and global supply chain challenges to ensure franchisee success, he also led the charge to create an efficient distribution network to support Scooter’s Coffee’s rapid nationwide growth. In addition to expanding distribution centers in Omaha, Nebraska, Kansas City, Missouri, Dallas, and Atlanta, Jarecke provides ongoing strategy for future expansion efforts.
Jarecke has 20 years of industry experience and previously held leadership positions in major companies like Kellogg’s, Tyson, Nestlé, and General Mills, working in a wide range of supply chain capacities.

Sean Muiz Joins Advanced Diabetes Supply as CSCO
CARLSBAD, Calif. — Advanced Diabetes Supply, a distributor of specialized diabetes devices under the ADS and USMED brands, announced three new C-suite appointments, including Sean Muiz as chief supply chain officer.
The company stated that Muiz will be responsible for the direction and leadership of the company’s operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel supply chain activities. He will work closely with ADS strategic partners and suppliers to maximize value and optimize the supply chain processes. He brings 12 years of supply chain management and healthcare logistics experience to the role, most recently serving as the chief service officer for Joerns Healthcare.

Bishu Jayaram Named Wolverine World Wide’s First CSCO
ROCKFORD, Mich. — Wolverine World Wide, Inc. announced the appointment of Bishu Jayaram to its newly created role of chief supply chain officer. This position will be responsible for global sourcing, distribution, logistics, and integrated planning — a critical role in driving the organization’s ongoing transformation into a consumer-obsessed growth company.
The company stated that Jayaram, a seasoned executive with over 20 years in supply chain and sourcing roles, has served as Wolverine Worldwide’s senior vice president of global sourcing for the past two years, leading sourcing activities for all product categories across the company’s portfolio of brands.

Gregg Uecker Takes the Helm as Perdue Farms’ First CSC&OO
SALISBURY, Md. — Perdue Farms, a fourth-generation, family-owned U.S. food and agricultural products company, announced Gregg Uecker has joined the organization in the newly created position of chief supply chain and operations officer, overseeing responsibility for the entire Perdue Foods supply chain, including live production, plant operations, transportation and warehousing, order fulfillment, customer service, food safety and quality assurance, procurement, and engineering.
According to Kevin McAdams, CEO of Perdue Farms, “Gregg’s depth of experience and understanding of operations and supply chain agility will help optimize our supply chain efficiencies to meet and exceed the unique needs of our customers and consumers, and drive sustainable growth for the company,” he said.
Uecker comes to Perdue from CJ Schwan’s, where he was executive vice president of global supply chain. Before that, he spent more than 30 years with Tyson Foods in key senior leadership roles.

Golden State Foods Promotes Trisha McRoberts to Corporate Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer
IRVINE, Calif. — Golden State Foods (GSF), one of the largest diversified suppliers to the foodservice and retail industries, announced the promotion of Trisha McRoberts to corporate vice president and chief procurement officer. McRoberts will continue collaborating with key stakeholders to broaden the strategic sourcing team’s impact on centralizing the company’s procurement of packaging, food ingredients, and indirect spend categories.
The company stated that as GSF’s group vice president of strategic sourcing since 2021, McRoberts has effectively driven the creation of new processes and the adoption of a category management approach to procurement in food processing. Additionally, she has developed internal talent and brought in new talent to drive the team’s continuous improvement in the procurement process.

Robert Howell Named Senior Vice President and CSCO for Academy Sports + Outdoors
KATY, Texas — Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc., announced the appointment of Robert (Rob) Howell to the role of senior vice president and chief supply chain officer. In this role, Howell will oversee supply chain operations, distribution centers, and domestic and international logistics.
The company stated that Howell brings nearly 30 years of supply chain, distribution, and logistics experience to Academy. Previously, he spent nearly 20 years with Sysco Corporation, a wholesale restaurant food distributor, where he performed various supply chain, logistics, and merchandising leadership roles.

Hormel Foods Makes Two Supply Chain Promotions
AUSTIN, Minn. — Hormel Foods Corporation, a Fortune 500 global branded food company, announced that Steve Lykken, group vice president of Jennie-O Turkey Store, will advance to group vice president of supply chain, while Matt Schrupp was promoted to vice president of supply chain operations — Jennie-O Turkey Store.
In his new role, Lykken will lead the company’s One Supply Chain organization, including procurement, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, research and development, quality management, and plant operations.
The company stated that Lykken began his career at Hormel Foods in 1992. He has held several roles, including senior vice president, Hormel Foods and president of Jennie-O Turkey Store, Inc., in 2017, before assuming the role of group vice president, Jennie-O Turkey Store, in 2021.
As vice president of supply chain operations — Jennie-O Turkey Store, Schrupp will oversee the vertically integrated supply chain operations, live production team, and the supply chain and commodity sales function for Jennie-O Turkey Store.
According to Lykken, “The extensive operations knowledge and leadership that Matt brings to this role will continue to position Jennie-O Turkey Store as an operations leader in the industry,” he said. “His experience and strategic mindset will bring significant value to his expanded team and responsibilities.”

Brian Potvin Joins EG America as VP of Procurement
WESTBOROUGH, Massachusetts — EG America, a convenience store giant operating 10 retail brands, announced two additions to its leadership team, including Brian Potvin who joined the organization as vice president of procurement. Potvin will lead the centralization of the procurement process across EG America’s 10 retail banners and corporate support functions.
According to John Carey, president and CEO of EG America, “We are thrilled to have Brian Ferguson and Brian Potvin join the EG America team,” he said. “Their extensive experience and expertise in their respective areas will help drive our go-to-market strategy and strengthen vital areas of our business.

Mohamed AbuSamra Appointed Group Chief Procurement Officer at Point Group
SANDTON, South Africa — Point Group, a global marketing services company, announced the appointment of Mohamed AbuSamra as its group chief procurement officer.
The company stated that AbuSamra is a talent with the experience to oversee Point Group’s global presence of 13 office locations in 26 countries, representing more than 2,000 clients. AbuSamra has 23 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, strategic sourcing, global sourcing, logistics, and operations.

Bonnie Kahakui Nominated to Lead Hawaii’s State Procurement Office
HONOLULU — Governor Josh Green, M.D., nominated longtime procurement official Bonnie Kahakui to head the State Procurement Office, which oversees billions of dollars in contract awards and goods and services purchases made by the state each year.
According to Green, “Bonnie Kahakui’s knowledge and background in procurement made her the natural choice to officially fill this critical position, especially at a time when Hawai‘i’s taxpayers expect accountability and integrity in managing public funds,” he said.
Kahakui’s nomination to a four-year term as Administrator and Chief Procurement Officer of the State Procurement Office is subject to approval by the state Senate.
Since January 2021, Kahakui has served as acting administrator and chief procurement officer and before that, she was the Procurement Office’s assistant administrator.
Kahakui noted, “Our focus is to streamline processes across state government while locating the best goods and services for our taxpayers.”

Dollar Tree, Inc. Adds Supply Chain to COO Mike Creedon’s Leadership Scope
CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Dollar Tree, Inc. announced a key role expansion for COO Mike Creedon, who will add leadership of Dollar Tree & Family Dollar Merchandising and Supply Chain to his scope.
According to Rick Dreiling, chairman and CEO, “We are fortunate to have an incredibly talented and dedicated leadership team at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar. As we’ve worked together over the last year to build our transformation strategy, Mike has served as a key leader driving our operational path forward,” he said. “In this expanded role, Mike will have full end-to-end accountability for delivering a best-in-class store experience for our customers.”
With this alignment, Dollar Tree Chief Merchandising Officer Rick McNeely, Family Dollar Chief Merchandising Officer Larry Gatta, and Chief Supply Chain Officer Mike Kindy will report to Creedon.
Before joining Dollar Tree in 2022, Creedon held several leadership roles at Advance Auto Parts for almost nine years, most recently as EVP and president of U.S. Stores. He also held executive positions with Tyco International and ADT Security.

Chris Stearman Appointed to TBC Corporation’s Newly Created CSCO Role
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – TBC Corporation, a leader in the mobility industry and one of North America’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires through wholesale and franchise operations, appointed Chris Stearman to the newly-created role of chief supply chain officer.
The company stated that Stearman will lead TBC’s end-to-end global supply chain operations, including supply chain strategy, planning, purchasing and procurement, manufacturing, distribution, innovation, and logistics for the company.
As an accomplished supply chain leader with more than 20 years of industry experience, Stearman most recently served as vice president, supply chain operations leader for Tyson Foods. Prior to joining Tyson, he held senior leadership roles at Revlon, Beam Suntory, and Avon.
According to Sam Kato, TBC president and CEO, “TBC is focused on our ongoing evolution, and strengthening our planning, purchasing, inventory management and distribution, and supply-chain-as-a-service solutions,” he said.

Sheetal Shah Promoted to CSC&MO for UPSIDE Foods
BERKELEY, Calif. — UPSIDE Foods, a leading cultivated meat, poultry, and seafood company, announced that Sheetal Shah, former SVP of supply chain and manufacturing, has been promoted to chief supply chain and manufacturing officer.
The company stated that Shah leads UPSIDE’s manufacturing, supply chain, and strategic sourcing efforts. Since joining UPSIDE in 2021, Shah has played a key role in spearheading the development and expansion of UPSIDE’s supply chain and manufacturing operations.
Significant accomplishments include strategically sourcing cell feed and vital inputs with a focus on cost reduction and scalability, overseeing operations at the Engineering, Production & Innovation Center (EPIC), and leading UPSIDE’s plans for manufacturing at commercial scale.

Steve Gawronski Joins Harbinger as VP, Supply Chain and Logistics
LOS ANGELES — Harbinger, an electric vehicle (EV) truck manufacturer, announced the appointment of Steve Gawronski as vice president, supply chain and logistics. He will join the Harbinger leadership team, working together with other electric vehicle experts to ensure the successful launch of the company’s revolutionary commercial medium-duty EV platform that is beginning production.
The company stated that at Rivian, Gawronski built and managed a team of 300+ and oversaw direct procurement, indirect procurement, logistics, packaging, supplier quality, program management and business systems/analytics.

Binny Mathews Named CPO for Accenture
NEW YORK — Accenture announced that Binny Mathews took the reins earlier this year as chief procurement officer and head of the company’s Procurement Plus (P+) capability. Mathews will be responsible for leading the strategic direction for Accenture’s global procurement spend.
According to Mathews, “I’m excited to lead Procurement Plus and continue advancing Accenture’s global leadership in responsible buying, with sustainability, transparency, agility and inclusivity underscoring how we work with our suppliers around the world and across the marketplace,” he said.
Speaking on Mathews role, Margaret Smith, senior managing director and executive director of Corporate Services & Sustainability, Accenture, noted, “Binny will play a critical role in how we power innovation, growth and business continuity for the organization, ensuring that our global strategy is executed based on local demand, and that we lead with data-driven ways to deliver value.”

Dean Gordon Retires from Jack in the Box after 15 Years
SAN DIEGO — Jack in the Box Inc. announced the retirement of Dean Gordon, SVP, chief supply chain officer, after 15 years at the organization.
Jack in the Box Inc. stated that Gordon joined the company in February 2009 and has been pivotal in driving its growth and success. During his tenure, Gordon has spearheaded numerous cost savings initiatives and built invaluable relationships with the company’s franchise owners, suppliers, and vendor partners that propelled Jack in the Box Inc. forward through a global pandemic and the shared services integration of the Jack in the Box and Del Taco brands.
Gordon stated, “I am very grateful to have been a part of Jack in the Box Inc.’s journey for the past 15 years,” he said. “I am fully committed to supporting the company in finding the ideal candidate to lead us into the future.”

Turpaz Industries Appoints Anna Corless Global Procurement Manager

David Minx Joins Randall Foods as CPO

Kontoor Brands, Inc. Promotes Ezio Garciamendez to EVP, CSCO
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Kontoor Brands, Inc., a global lifestyle apparel company, announced two leadership appointments, including Ezio Garciamendez to EVP, chief supply chain officer. Tom Waldron joined Garciamendez on the leadership team as COO.
The company stated that Garciamendez joined Kontoor Brands in 2022 as SVP, chief supply chain officer and has been instrumental in enhancing efficiencies and simplifying processes across Kontoor’s supply chain, including global sourcing and internal manufacturing. Prior to joining Kontoor, Garciamendez served as global operations SVP at Melaleuca as well as leadership positions at Procter & Gamble.

Tracy Rosser Named White Cap’s First CSCO
ATLANTA — White Cap, a leading distributor of specialty construction supplies and safety products for professional contractors, welcomed Tracy Rosser to the new role of chief supply chain officer (CSCO). In this role, Rosser will maximize investments in White Cap’s transformational supply chain initiatives and lead the supply chain strategy for the company.

Brian Anderson Joins Davis-Standard as CPO
PAWCATUCK, Conn. — Davis-Standard, LLC, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of extrusion and converting technology, announced the appointment of Brian Anderson as chief procurement officer. Anderson will assume global responsibility for Davis-Standard’s procurement and supply chain operations. He will oversee all aspects of supplier management, sourcing strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.
The company stated that before Davis-Standard, Anderson amassed 30 years of extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, holding key procurement leadership roles with Duracell Inc, Robert Bosch, and the Marmon Group, among others. JLL Promotes Michael Raphael to CPO
CHICAGO — JLL announced the promotion of Michael Raphael to chief procurement officer to lead procurement activities globally across the company and manage annual procurement spend for both JLL and on behalf of its clients.
According to Neil Murray, CEO, JLL Work Dynamics, “As a member of the Sourcing & Procurement leadership team, Michael has built strong relationships with our suppliers and external partners,” he said.
“Sourcing & Procurement is at the heart of JLL’s sustainability program, and we recognize that a significant portion of our overall impact stems from our supply chain. Michael is dedicated to maintaining a sustainable global supply chain and ensuring that all our purchases make a positive contribution to the communities we serve,” Murray added.
The company stated that creating and maintaining a global sustainable procurement framework is part of JLL’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions on behalf of JLL and its clients. This includes having consistent policies and governance that determine how JLL engages with suppliers globally and that ensure compliance and alignment with ESG principles.

SIU Appoints Eric Dean Massey as Director of Procurement Services
CARBONDALE, Illinois — Southern Illinois University (SIU) announced the appointment of Eric Dean Massey as director of SIU Carbondale’s Procurement Services.

Before returning to campus, Massey was a contract compliance specialist with the Illinois Department of Transportation, beginning in November 2023.

Tim Collins Joins Blue Origin as VP of Supply Chain
SEATTLE — Blue Origin has hired former executive vice president at Flexport, Tim Collins, as vice president of supply chain.
As reported in Tech Moves, Collins has decades of experience in operational leadership roles, including more than 20 years at Amazon during which time he served four years as vice president of global operations.
While most recently, Collins served as executive vice president at Flexport, he also held roles at Gopuff and Uber.
Collins says he’s excited about joining Blue Origin and its mission to send an uncrewed lander to the surface of the moon in the next 12 to 16 months.
Starbucks Appoints Heather Ostis as CPO
SEATTLE — Earlier this year, Starbucks appointed Heather Ostis as its senior vice president and chief procurement officer of global supply chain. Ostis was formerly with Delta Airlines since 2018 as vice president, head of global supply chain management & strategic sourcing.

Wallace Sermons II, JD, Confirmed as Maryland’s CPO

Michael Greto Takes the Reins as VP, Supply Chain for GCHI

SEATTLE — Nordstrom, Inc. promoted Alexis DePree as chief operating officer of the company. DePree previously served as the retailer’s executive vice president and chief supply chain officer since January 2020, before which she held senior leadership roles at Amazon and Target.

ST. LOUIS — MLC (formerly Mississippi Lime Company) appointed Cheryl Stuckmeyer as vice president, supply chain. SIG Names Fabio Grazioli Its CSCO
NEUHAUSEN, Switzerland — SIG, a leading solutions provider of packaging, announced the appointment of Fabio Grazioli to the Group Executive Board as chief supply chain officer. Grazioli joins from Haier Group, the global market leader in home appliances and consumer electronics, where he most recently served as vice president supply chain, procurement, E2E cost leadership and CTO – EMEA.

Dan Rosckes, Apple Inc.’s VP of Global Sourcing and Supply Management, Announces Retirement
CUPERTINO, Calif. — According to a report this week by Bloomberg, Dan Rosckes, Apple Inc.’s vice president of global sourcing and supply management, announced his retirement to staff.
The report stated that David Tom, who has served as Rosckes’ top deputy, will succeed him. According to Bloomberg, “As a vice president, Rosckes is one of about 100 executives helping Apple’s senior management team run the company on a daily basis. While not a household name, he has been a key player at Apple for two decades, helping ensure that products come out on time each year. The company purchases components in massive quantities, and its sourcing decisions can reshape the tech industry.”
Industry Veteran Michael Papaleo, EVP, CPO, Retires from C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC

Krystyna Kostka Named CSCO for BJ’s Wholesale Club
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — BJ’s Wholesale Club announced that Krystyna Kostka, currently senior vice president, operations, has been named chief supply chain officer. She will lead the company’s distribution and logistics networks, planning and allocation and robotics and automation.
The company stated that Kostka joined BJ’s in 2014, leading fuel operations. She has played a key role in the successful growth of BJ’s Gas. Kostka is also responsible for club and distribution center operations infrastructure.
Most recently, Kostka has been the driving force behind the company’s deployment of robotics, automation and emerging technologies in BJ’s clubs and distribution centers.
Along with Kostka, Scott Schmadeke, senior vice president, field and fresh operations, was named executive vice president, chief operations officer.

Sylvester Donelson, Jr. Appointed CPO for City of Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. — The City of Portland announced the hiring of Sylvester Donelson, Jr. as the new chief procurement officer. Donelson brings a wealth of experience in procurement and contract management, having held several leadership roles in public sector organizations, successfully leading initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and promoting equitable procurement policies.
Donelson will oversee the city’s procurement activities, including ensuring public spending aligns with the city’s equity in contracting goals. His most recent roles include director of procurement for the San Joaquin Regional Transit District, procurement officer for Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, and chief procurement officer for the County of Santa Barbara.
In his previous positions, Donelson spearheaded the creation of a five-year procurement strategic plan, introduced innovative procurement strategies that resulted in substantial cost savings and enhanced efficiency, and implemented new systems to streamline solicitation and purchasing processes.

NIKE Announces Changes to Senior Leadership Team
BEAVERTON, Ore. — NIKE, Inc. announced changes in its senior leadership team, including the addition of Venkatesh Alagirisamy, chief supply chain officer, and 18-year NIKE veteran, who will now report directly to Elliott Hill, president & CEO, NIKE, Inc and become a member of the senior leadership team.
