Papa John’s Promotes Kurt Milburn to CSCO

ATLANTA — Papa John’s International, Inc. announced the promotion of Kurt Milburn to chief supply chain officer, succeeding Shane Hutchins, who will retire after 26 years at Papa Johns, where he served as CSCO since October 2018.

The company stated that Milburn joined Papa Johns in 2022 as vice president of supply chain operations and since that time has taken on additional responsibility to include engineering and operations support functions as well as the International Supply Chain organization.

According to interim CEO Ravi Thanawala, “I’m thrilled for Kurt to become our next chief supply chain officer, as he brings deep expertise in supply chain and engineering from large, complex organizations and strong knowledge of our organization having led Papa John’s Food Service operations over the last two years,” he said.

“I look forward to his leadership as we continue to evolve our supply chain to meet the demands of our growing business. On behalf of the entire Papa John’s team, I would like to thank Shane for leading us through some of our biggest supply chain transformations and look forward to continuing to leverage his experience in other capacities,” Thanawala added.

In his new role, Milburn will lead Papa John’s Food Service (PJFS), which oversees the company’s quality control center operations, supplier management, and quality assurance.

Prior to Papa John’s, Milburn served as senior vice president of supply chain operations at Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. He also held engineering and supply chain management positions at General Electric and General Motors.

Dave D’Angelo Joins Kent Outdoors as CSCO

SALT LAKE CITY — Kent Outdoors, helping people in the pursuit of outdoor adventures for more than 60 years, announced that Dave D’Angelo has joined the company as chief supply chain officer.

The company stated that D’Angelo brings over 25 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, global operations, and supply chain optimization, and his past roles include executive positions with Thermo Fisher Scientific, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Staples, and Reebok.

D’Angelo has a track record of driving efficiencies and global collaboration among departments, facilitating new product development and launches in the sporting goods industry, and building and leading effective teams for manufacturing, distribution, and retail.

According to Kent Executive Chairman Lee Belitsky, “Dave is a versatile, strategic leader with an incredible amount of experience across industries and global markets, and we’re thrilled to have him join the team,” he said. “His leadership will support the entire Kent Outdoors portfolio as we continue to build and evolve for new opportunities ahead.”

Revelyst Appoints Joe Beck as CSCO

ANOKA, Minn. — Revelyst, a collective of world-class maker brands that design and manufacture performance gear and precision technologies and a segment of Vista Outdoor Inc., announced the appointment of Joe Beck as chief supply chain officer.

The company stated that in the third quarter, Revelyst launched GEAR Up, the company’s plan to simplify its business model, deliver increased efficiency and profitability, and reinvest in its highest potential brands to accelerate growth and transformation. The appointment of a seasoned, transformational supply chain, sourcing and logistics leader is key to helping Revelyst and its brands begin this new chapter.

Beck most recently served as vice president of global supply chain for embecta, a medical technology company where he oversaw global supply chain and distribution operations, including the overhaul of their global network design, planning, logistics, and trade technology and change management leadership.

Wallace Sermons II, JD, Confirmed as Maryland’s CPO

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Maryland Governor Wes Moore recently swore in five new executive leaders, each confirmed by the Senate during the 2024 legislative session, to fill key positions across state government — including Wallace Sermons II who will serve as the first African American chief procurement officer in Maryland state history.

According to Governor Moore, “These exceptionally talented and diverse leaders are subject matter experts who bring a vast range of experience and expertise to the table,” he said. “They’ve chosen to serve, and our state is going to be better because of their service.”

Sermons will oversee all procurement activities for the State of Maryland, working closely with various agencies to develop equitable policies and streamline procurement processes.

Prior to joining the Maryland Department of General Services in 2023, he served as deputy director of the Office of Government Contracting for the U.S. Small Business Administration. He also previously held several procurement roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

NIBCO INC. Promotes Christine Murphy to Director of Supply Chain Planning

ELKHART, Ind. — NIBCO INC.  announced the promotion of Christine Murphy to director of supply chain planning. In her new role, Murphy will be responsible for supply chain planning, vendor managed inventory demand planning, and material and vendor master data management.

According to Ashley Martin, president and chief operating officer for NIBCO, “Christine brings 30 years of knowledge and history of NIBCO to her new position,” she said. “NIBCO is excited for Christine to lead the supply chain planning strategy that is instrumental in the company’s growth and success.”

The company stated that Murphy joined NIBCO in 1994 as a credit analyst. During her career at NIBCO, she held several positions, including senior corporate accountant, supply chain analyst, supply chain planner, project manager-supply management, data management analyst, and manager of demand planning. She was promoted to her most recent role of senior manager of demand planning and supply chain data services in March 2019.

Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Iowa and is a certified management accountant (CMA) and certified supply chain professional (CSCP). She is a member of the NIBCO 25-Year Club, the company’s club for recognizing associates with 25 years or more of service.
