On Tuesday, Ardent Partners presented awards for outstanding performance and execution in the last year – “The CPO Honors” – to a variety of top performers, including Chief Procurement Officers and other procurement leaders, procurement teams, and solution providers.

THE INNOVATION AWARD AKA “INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR”
Stuart Caborn, Chief Procurement Officer, Nomad Foods
Stuart’s fast and innovative response to the pandemic capitalized on several major shifts in his company’s supply markets. His shift in sourcing strategies was agile and made a dramatic impact during a period of great uncertainty.
TECHNOLOGY EXCELLENCE AWARD
Namejs Kins, Head of Supply Systems, Roy Hill
Namejs leveraged his strategic sourcing technology to deliver the insights and agility needed to create valuable cost-savings despite the slowdowns otherwise created by the pandemic. Namejs also used his systems to streamline and centralize his team’s contact tracing, supplier relations, organizational communication, and data management.
FUTURE OF WORK VISIONARY AWARD
Martin Thomas, Head of Total Workforce Management, Philips
Martin launched a holistic, total workforce management approach and adapted his company’s talent strategy to encompass its entire workforce (both internal and external). With nearly 100% coverage across 25 countries, Martin’s team is now able to evaluate the skills, cost, and availability of workers including their access to systems and facilities in order to decide whether work should be done by employees or by teh extended workforce (contingent/ICs/consultants).

Eaton Vance with SAP Ariba / EY
Eaton Vance needed to build a proactive, automated supplier risk assessment program to drive transparency, efficiency and compliance and worked in tandem with SAP Ariba consulting and EY Risk Management Services to design a best-in-class risk management process. The results enabled Eaton Vance’s ability to assess supplier risk based on supplier segmentation, Identifies high risk, critical suppliers to then trigger proactive risk assessment, and Formalized assignment of ownership of supplier evaluations among other benefits.

Lending Tree led by Michael Leiken and Baylor Scott & White Health led by Pamela Wiseman
The Lending Tree team, led by Michael Leiken was able to standardize processes, build strong relationships, and drive a major technology deployment. This resulted in expanded agility and flexibility, stringer supplier relationships, a productivity bounce of nearly 10x and significant savings.
Baylor Scott and White Health team led by Pamela Wiseman executed a comprehensive digital transformation along with an holistic supply chain reorganization that moved away from the standard GPO model to save a huge amount and reduce the total cost of care to decrease patients financial burden.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTION AWARD
Keelvar’s intelligent sourcing automation solutions offers AI-driven recommendations on award options for highly complex bids and continue to help its customers rapidly respond to their new and fast-changing logistics requirements amidst the ongoing pandemic.
THE CPO OF THE YEAR
Alejandro Gusis, Global VP of Indirect Procurement & Real Estate, Univar Solutions
Alejandro drove the digital transformation of his procurement organization while delivering tens of millions in in annual savings, successfully merging two procurement organizations, creating a strong and competitive category management playbook, elevating the role of the procurement function, and establishing Center of Excellence to manage sustainability.
