Carnival Corp. CPO Julia Brown leaves Company

last month, Carnival Corporation cruise lines announced that its Chief Procurement Officer, Julia Brown would be moving on from the company, as reported by Seatrade Cruise News. With the  current pause in operations, Brown said it was an ‘opportune time’ to transition sourcing leadership. Jon McKeown has been named SVP global strategic sourcing. He will be responsible for coordinating the global sourcing activities across the company. In his first three years at the company McKeown has made a ‘significant difference in a short time and I am pleased that he will be taking on these new increased responsibilities,’ Brown said. Brown first joined Carnival back 2015 and had previously worked at Mondelez International where she also held the role of chief procurement officer. Prior roles to that were with Kraft Foods, Clorox, Diageo, Gillette and Procter & Gamble.

Domino’s Promotes CPO and Appoints New CFO

Domino’s Pizza, the American multinational pizza chain, announced the appointment of Executive Vice President, Supply Chain Services, Stu Levy, as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. In a corresponding move, Domino’s also announced the promotion of Cindy Headen to Executive Vice President, Supply Chain Services, to succeed Levy. Both Levy and Headen will report directly to Domino’s CEO Ritch Allison. Headen joined Domino’s back in 2015 as Vice President of Procurement & Product Management. In 2018, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain Operations where she oversaw global procurement, inventory management, commodities, Progressive Food Solutions, logistics, transportation, continuous improvement and management of Domino’s Canadian supply chain operations. Back in early August, the Board of Directors of CITGO, the Texax-based petroleum company, announced the appointment of Edgar Rincon as new Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Rincon had most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations for the Western Hemisphere for Nabors Industries, an American gas and oil drilling contractor, where he oversaw the company’s business in seven different countries. Edgar also held the roles of Senior Vice President of Operations for the U.S., Chief Procurement Officer and Vice President of Supply Chain at Nabors. Equinor CPO Promoted to CEO

Equinor ASA, the Norwegian state-owned multinational energy company, recently announced the promotion of its CPO and head of technology and projects, Anders Opedal to CEO of the company. Opedal will be taking over the company in November, with a clear mandate to accelerate Equinor’s transformation into a broader energy company. This mandate comes as pressure grows on the industry to act on climate change. Opedal first joined Equinor (then called Statoil) as a petroleum engineer back in 1997, and is now the first engineer to make it to the top of the company. Earlier this year Equinor announced its new climate ambitions, saying it would cut net carbon intensity of the energy it produces by at least half by 2050. They plan to reach that goal through a sharp increase in renewables output and changes in its oil and gas portfolio.
