UPDATE – VIEW THIS SESSION NOW – ON-DEMAND

Ardent Partners takes the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic with the utmost seriousness. Please click here to read our approach in these uncertain times.

Next up in our CPO Rising 2K20 – The Resiliency Imperative Series is Session 3: Rethinking the Global Supply Chain featuring Gregg Brandyberry (click to register) April 7 @ 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET is now available to listen to on-demand.

The on-going series blends a wide range of sponsored and many, non-sponsored sessions including web-based presentations, panels, and interviews with leading business executives, industry analysts, and other experts. Tomorrow’s presentation will look at how today’s global supply chains developed in the aftermath of this first wave of activity and the problems that they face today given the coronavirus pandemic. It will also look at what and how companies should be thinking about their supply chains given the current disruption and uncertainty that pervades the market.

As a leading procurement executive (CPO) in the pharmaceutical industry, Gregg Brandyberry led the charge on global sourcing into China and India in the 1990s and early 2000s. I have been working with Gregg on this presentation over the past few days and I can tell you that it is highly relevant to anyone dealing with or managing a global supply chain as well as any sourcing pros (even if your categories aren’t global). As a legendary procurement leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Gregg has always been a tremendous procurement innovator. And like myself, he has also been a tireless eSourcing evangelist. Although Gregg has retired from the corporate world, he has stayed active, helping multiple, large global procurement teams drive efficiencies, deploy technology and rethink their sourcing operations. The fact that his expertise hits squarely on PPE, medical devices and equipment, and medicine, is just gravy.

Over the past two months, he and I have had multiple conversations discussing what comes next for global sourcing as we head the next phase of global sourcing and global trade. Gregg spent decades working on the development and refinement of the modern (China/Eastern-based) supply chain. Now, given the recent pandemic  Gregg is starting to rethink it all. I’m excited to tackle this hugely important topic with Gregg and hope you can join us on-demand when we

  • Examine how western companies “lost control” of the supply chain, specifically looking at current lines of medicines and devices.
  • Explain why certain current dependencies/relationships will never be the same.
  • Rethink the Global Supply Chain and discuss the implications of change.
  • Ask and answer the question: What do sourcing teams do now?
  • And a special bonus section that will help procurement teams create their own stimulus package.
