The first Monday of September in the United States (and Canada) is a federal holiday called Labor Day. According to the US Department of Labor, “Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.” Here’s a fun little video from The History Channel on the origins and legacy of Labor Day here in the States and our Neighbors to the North.
We at Ardent Partners recognize that our community of readers and subscribers is geographically diverse and thus, not everyone has today off. So whether you are spending today barbecuing with friends or sourcing a new contract, binge-watching a television series or scheduling vendor payments (if you are doing this, you may be interested in this upcoming event), we thank you for spending some time with us each week and hope you enjoy the day.
