Top Procurement Leaders Honored at the Annual CPO Rising Summit
Ardent Partners Inducts Two Chief Procurement Officers into Hall of Fame and Presents Four Other “CPO Honors” Awards
BOSTON, November 17 — Ardent Partners, a leading industry analyst firm focused on supply management, hosted a CPO Honors Gala dinner during its annual CPO Rising Summit last week. In addition to the innovative procurement insights at the executive symposium, a gala dinner two highly-regarded Chief Procurement Officers (“CPOs”) were inducted into the CPO Rising Hall of Fame, while four CPOs and their teams were presented with awards for excellence in procurement, technology, and innovation
The CPO Rising Hall of Fame
The CPO Rising Hall of Fame was established to celebrate the career achievements of a select group of Chief Procurement Officers who have driven value from transformational thinking, next-generation strategies, and process excellence, while also possessing a dedication to the craft and investing their time and efforts in advancing the procurement profession.
Tom Linton, chief procurement and supply chain officer at Flex, was inducted into the CPO Rising Hall of Fame based upon the cumulative achievements of a spectacular career, leading large, global procurement organizations and setting the pace for CPOs around the world. Mr. Linton is an evangelist for center-led procurement structures, and, over the past four decades has managed procurement and supply chain operations across multiple geographies to great success. Shelley Stewart, CPO of DuPont, has had an equally impressive professional career and was inducted in absentia. These two inductees join leaders from Apple, GSK, and the public sector in the “CPO Rising Hall of Fame.”
“Tom Linton and Shelley Stewart were inducted into the Hall of Fame because each has made a significant contribution to the procurement profession over the course of their respective careers,” says Andrew Bartolini, chief research officer and managing partner at Ardent Partners. “Tom and Shelley are not only procurement visionaries, they are also considered among the most forward-thinking executives working in business today.”
The 2017 CPO Honors Awards
Four distinct CPOs and/or procurement teams received CPO Honors awards for their outstanding work and achievement in procurement in 2017. The awards and winners are:
- The Leadership Award (CPO of the Year): This award is presented to the CPO whose department has achieved new performance heights as a result of their direct involvement, leadership, and exceptional executive management. The 2017 winner of this award is Stephen Listzwan, head of procurement, Shire Pharmaceuticals.
- The Innovation Award: This award is presented to the CPO that has used new and innovative strategies and approaches to overcome significant hurdles. The 2017 winner of this award is Walter Charles III, CPO, Biogen.
- Best Team Performance Award: This award is presented to the procurement department that has excelled across the full scope of procurement operations to make a significant impact on overall enterprise results. The 2017 winner of this award is Stan Brown and Team, CA Technologies.
- The Technology Excellence Award: This award is presented to the team that has leveraged technology solutions to impact procurement operations and overall performance. The 2017 winner of this award is the Procurement Team at Boston Scientific.
