Sourcing with the Stars: How to Win Friends and Drive Adoption

As we’ve been barnstorming the nation planet stumping for our eSourcing 2.0 policy, we’ve been a little slower with articles these past two weeks – we will be back in our normal routine very soon. Truth be told, we’ve also had our hands full working on this year’s CPO Rising 2012: Keeping Score report which will be hitting the market in a matter of days (watch for a few sneak preview articles). I’d also like to thank the 267 practitioners who completed the survey and participated in phone interviews with me this past month. And now, on with the show….

Sourcing with the Stars: How to Win Friends and Drive Adoption

Sell that multimillion dollar contract and you’ve made president’s club and earned an all-expenses paid getaway to some plush resort.

Launch the new product that becomes the next big thing in the market and you’re on your way to easy street with new options up the wazoo.

Lead a sourcing project that drives a million dollar year-over-year save and it’s still “don’t forget to sweep up before you go home tonight.”

It doesn’t have to be that way. Sure, the front of the house gets more attention, but we believe that today’s corporate sourcing stars can and  should become tomorrow’s business leaders. But first, they have to become sourcing stars.

On November 14, I will be participating in a webinar sponsored by GEP that will look at the strategies that today’s sourcing stars use to engage stakeholders and drive adoption of strategic sourcing solutions.

Here’s the official webinar description

Sourcing with the Stars: How to Win Friends and Drive Adoption (registration required)

Procurement departments that succeed in the consistent execution of their sourcing projects are the ones that take a holistic approach to the entire sourcing process and leverage process automation tools across it. eSourcing solutions, which automate the sourcing process, remain one of the CPO’s most valuable tools to win friends and garner influence. But a majority of procurement departments fail to fully adopt the solutions and leverage significant business value from them.

GEP welcomes Andrew Bartolini, Chief Research Officer at Ardent Partners as he co-presents strategies that leading Chief Procurement Officers have used to drive greater technology adoption and superior business results.

Webinar attendees will learn:

  • Strategies to capture executive attention and support for the eSourcing program
  • Solution design and deployment best practices
  • How early collaboration with key stakeholders can drive adoption
  • The “moves” and approaches that many sourcing pros have used to become the “stars” of their respective teams
