Who wants to be a CPO?
Given the responsibilities, exposure, and compensation of many of the Chief Procurement Officer roles within the Fortune 1000, I would imagine that most professionals working in procurement today would say “I do.” Those of you who aspire to the role of CPO may be interested in viewing this webinar, “Becoming a Chief Procurement Officer: The Qualifications, Experience and Characteristics of a CPO”.
Over the past 17 years in the industry, I have been very fortunate to establish relationships with a large number of CPOs across industries and geographies. This webinar provides an opportunity to share my perspective on the common attributes of successful CPOs and discuss the recent CPO hiring trends in the corporate world.
Our research process behind the webinar and accompanying report (click to download, registration required) is described this way: “This primary research effort was based upon numerous interviews and ongoing discussions with Chief Procurement Officers, other procurement executives, and several executive recruiters focused on procurement and supply chain, as well as the direct experience and analysis of the report author. As part of this report’s analysis, the author reviewed the career paths of more than thirty CPOs across a range of industries. The “example” job description, responsibilities, qualifications, and characteristics used in this report are based upon a series of actual CPO job requisitions that were filled over the past twelve months. The report author regularly advises CPOs, companies, and recruiters on career and placement strategies, ultimately helping place CPOs into new positions.”
