CPO Rising Update (May 2011)

CPO Rising Update (May 2011)

Since the world did not end this weekend, I thought it might be time for a few thank-yous and updates to start the week. We’ll be right back at it this week with a full slate of articles and, I hope, a continuation of our CPOs on the Rise in 2011 series (we’re only 1/3 of the way through – BTW, thank you to all of the very patient Chief Procurement Officers that participated).

CPO Rising: #1 Site for Procurement and Supply Management

To start, I want to thank our readers for making this site the most popular[i] supply management/procurement/sourcing-themed website globally and in the US. More important to me (since a ranking suggests a competition and we’re not competing with any site) has been the huge upsurge in our traffic this year and the fact that our monthly traffic numbers have continued to grow every month since announcing the site last April (we spent 3 months in “beta” before launching). I am as encouraged as I am thankful. We remain committed to delivering what we hope are interesting and informative articles that are written with the Chief Procurement Officer and other procurement executives in mind. Since our growth has been almost entirely organic, I want to give a special word of thanks to those readers that continue to share articles with their teams and/or networks.

Ardent Partners’ Upcoming Research Report

I also want to thank everyone who has taken the time out of their busy schedules to take this survey that will fuel my upcoming research report and many future articles on the site throughout the year. We are approaching our response target, but still need your help. I would love to begin my analysis over Memorial Day Weekend (yes, cook-outs and procurement research are my idea of fun). If you have a few minutes to spare, spending them engaged on this survey would be awesome and most appreciated (if you are pressed for time, feel free to skip the open text question, I have more than enough quotes and context).

CPO Rising 2012 – Nashville, May 17 & 18

Our initial plans to host an event in Orlando this September hit a snag when our site host told us they could not accommodate enough rooms in a single location. As such, I am very excited to announce our plans to host a CPO Rising event in Nashville next May. With such a long runway ahead of us, I am certain it will be THE event of the 2012 season. There will be much (MUCH!) more about this exciting event on these pages starting in the fall. Stay Tuned!

[i] This is based upon yesterday’s (05/22/11) site rankings of the twenty most prominent sites in our space as determined by Alexa, the third-party web information company that measures traffic. I picked the sites; Alexa measured the traffic. Alexa normalizes traffic by measuring the most recent three months of activity.
