DCR Workforce Partners with EdgeVerve on Indirect Procurement Solution

Last month, DCR Workforce, a Florida-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Vendor Management Systems (VMS) solution developer, announced that it has partnered with EdgeVerve, an Infosys company based out of Bangalore, India, to develop an automated, cloud-based solution to manage indirect procurement spend. The two solution providers will combine EdgeVerve’s automated, cloud-based procurement management solution, ProcureEdge, with DCR’s cloud-based VMS platform, Smart Track, to enable procurement managers to better manage indirect services spend. As a result of the joint offering, clients will be better enabled to increase compliance, decrease risks, and cut costs associated with indirect services, like contingent labor and statement of work services.

In other news from DCR Workforce, it announced on February 21 its product road map for 2017 and promised a “seismic shift in the VMS market.” Like most solution providers, DCR Workforce is focused on providing innovative, useful, and service-oriented solutions to its customers. In keeping with these goals, DCR Workforce will offer Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) in conjunction with Smart Track to provide customers with market data combined with internal data to help them manage their indirect services spend.

DCR Workforce will also provide four other updates to Smart Track, including 1. a One-Stop-Shop Dashboard, an in-context reporting dashboard, 2. Rate Guidance, a service that will provide users with on-demand, location-specific guidance on rates by a number of variables, 3. Market Heat Maps, which DCR will update with “modifications and market fluctuations” to create new triggers for market trends, and 4. Match Index Intelligence, an automated candidate-matching solution that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning, that DCR will refine to provide hiring managers with more precise recommendations.

PeopleScout Adds MSP to Talent Management Solutions Suite

On February 2, PeopleScout, a Chicago-based provider of talent management solutions, announced that it has added an MSP solution to its suite of talent management solutions that includes VMS and recruitment process outsourcing (RPO). PeopleScout migrated its “new” MSP solution from its sister company, Staff Management | SMX, along with the management team, which had offered the solution since 2005. PeopleSoft now offers its MSP solution in concert with its RPO solution to provide an integrated “talent acquisition program” across its clients’ enterprises, which PeopleSoft also views as a competitive differentiation.

PRO Unlimited Joins Cloud Security Alliance

On February 17, PRO Unlimited, the San Francisco-based MSP and VMS solution provider, announced that it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance, effective immediately. The Cloud Security Alliance is an organization “dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment.” Ted Sergott, PRO Unlimited EVP of Product Development, noted that the company is the first VMS provider to join the Cloud Security Alliance, and that many of its members are already PRO customers.

Shiftgig Receives $20 million Investment

Late last month, Shiftgig, the Chicago-based company that connects companies with temporary or “gig” workers on specific projects, announced that it has received an extra $20 million investment to further develop its solutions and grow the company. The investors include DRW Venture Capital, FJ Labs, GGV Capital, and KDWC Ventures, and bring Shiftgig’s total capital to $56 million. Shiftgig’s mobile-first platform connects gig workers with prospective employers and allows workers to choose which shifts they would like to work with the employers they want to work. As the economy has improved and placed a premium on skilled labor, workers with niche skills often have the advantage. Solutions like Shiftgig empower gig/temporary workers to be selective with their next projects and let prospective employers compete over their services.
