Vora Ventures Names Carol Hays as VP of Strategic Sourcing Services

On June 11, Vora Ventures, a Cincinnati-based private-equity firm that invests in up and coming IT providers, announced that it has named Carol Hays Vice President of Strategic Sourcing Solutions for one of Vora Ventures’ subsidiaries, KoncertIT. In her new role, Hays will bring her nearly 40 years of purchasing and sourcing expertise to bear, helping KoncertIT to drive expansion. Prior to joining Vora/KoncertIT, Hays was the Global Procurement Director at Reed Elsevier, Inc., where she supported IT procurement services for Elsevier, LexisNexis (a Reed Elsevier company), and Reed Business Information. Before joining Reed Elsevier and concurrent to today, Hays also founded her own consultancy, Hays Technical Services. Hays got her start in purchasing with Procter & Gamble, where she spent more than 30 years in IT purchasing. Hays earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of Cincinnati.

Jeff Ewing Named VP of Risk Management, Marketing at Aventine Renewable Energy

Also on June 11, Illinois-based Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings, PLC, announced that it has named Jeff Ewing as their new Vice President of Risk Management and Marketing. In the dual role, Ewing will be responsible for risk management and marketing operations at the company’s four ethanol plants, located in Illinois and Nebraska. According to Mark Beemer, Aventine president and CEO, Ewing will play a major role in determining the companies “risk management, disciplined hedging, and margin management” strategies, particularly in the face of “national and international market conditions.”

Ewing continues his 35-year long career in agricultural and energy-related commodities trading and risk management, which he will bring to bear at Aventine. Previously, Ewing was director of trading and hedging with Abengoa Bioenergy in Missouri, director of risk management for Hawkeye Energy in Iowa, and director of supply chain for Roquette America Inc. in Iowa. Earlier in his career, Ewing was senior manager risk and portfolio for Agriliance LLC of Minnesota, and a regional manager with Farmland Industries in Missouri. Ewing earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s in Finance from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Jaime Bohnke Becomes Vice President, Corporate Supply Chain at Northrop Grumman

On June 15, Virginia-based defense contractor, Northrop Grumman Corporation, announced that it has named Jaime Bohnke as its first Vice President of Corporate Supply Chain for Northrop’s Enterprise Services and Chief Strategy Office. In this new role, Bohnke will lead procurement and sourcing policy initiatives across the Office and organization, including supplier and supply chain performance, compliance, and many others. She will also serve as chair of the corporate Supply Chain Leadership Council. Bohnke has had a long and accomplished career in procurement and sourcing thus far, having served as VP of Global Supply Chain, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), head of Supply Chain Management, and various director and supply chain manager positions at various defense, electronics, and medical technology manufacturing companies. Bohnke received her BA in Business and MBA from Azusa Pacific University, as well as her Doctorate in Organizational Behavior and Business Policy from the University of La Verne.
