There’s no denying that the world of accounts payable is changing … and evolving. It’s becoming a function that is now considered to be more of a strategic information “hub” than the traditional back-office label it shed only recently. Today’s AP function is becoming a valuable source of information, intelligence, and strategic value to the general enterprise. The advent of AP automation, electronic payments, and next-generation strategies are pushing this function to new and exciting territories.

Ardent Partners is excited to announce the launch of its 2015 “State of ePayables” market research survey, available here. All participants of this landmark research survey will receive a complimentary copy of the resulting research report in late May. (While the survey is comprehensive, participants can expect to spend only 15 minutes of their time answering the questions.)

What will the new report entail? A multitude of areas, including:

  • The AP function’s link to enterprise agility. “Agility” is the ability for the average company to react to dynamic business challenges in an educated and informed manner. How can AP impact this notion of agility?
  • How the ePayables Framework consistently affects how organizations manage their financial operations. Ardent’s patented ePayables Framework, which helps organizations understand the processes behind accounts payable, was designed to assist businesses in how to structure and organization their AP functions. With AP becoming more of a strategic hub, it is critical that companies follow the processes of the Framework to derive real value from accounts payable operations.
  • The newfound focus on the world of payments. The upcoming “State of ePayables” research report will highlight the growing focus on the payment portion of the AP processes, helping to illuminate what is now a critical component of total financial, and enterprise, success. Aspects such as remittance information management and electronic payments (ePayments) will be major discussion points in the new research study.
  • AP’s impact from a collaborative and functional perspective. AP cannot be a true “hub” if it doesn’t serve as a true collaborative partner to other key stakeholders, such as procurement and treasury. The upcoming study will discuss, in detail, the concepts of collaboration in regards to accounts payable, and what these relationships truly mean in the scope of today’s evolving business environment.
