May is shaping up to be a busy month.

To start, it is ‘events season’ for many of the solution providers in the supply management space and I will be taking to the road several times next month in support of a few companies and their events. Secondly, but not necessarily secondarily, I plan to ‘soft-launch’ my new firm in May… more on that later. Today, two dates.

I am partnering with Aberdeen Group to host two Regional Procurement Leadership Summits geared to the CPO and focused on supply management and category strategies, including strategic meetings, a category worth investigating and then sourcing. The two events are sponsored by StarCite.

Here’s the official description:

Regional Procurement Leadership Summit: Overview

Aberdeen Group’s Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) Summit has become the definitive meeting place for global procurement executives to learn, network, and discuss the strategies needed to extend the broad transformation of their organizations. Now for the first time, Aberdeen Group and CPO Rising take the show on the road, bringing their world class research to a city near you:

May 6th – Chicago, IL

May 20th – San Francisco, CA

“The Regional Procurement Leadership Summit is a unique opportunity to discover the latest research,” notes Andrew Bartolini publisher of CPO Rising. “It is also a perfect reflection of our research process and the ongoing dialogue we have with leading procurement professionals to help them achieve operational excellence.”

Join Andrew Bartolini and the Aberdeen Group for this preeminent summit on global supply management strategies, a view of the future, and what it takes to turn supply management into a competitive weapon.

I am pleased today to announce the Keynote Speakers for each event:

The Keynote Address on the 6th in Chicago will be delivered by Gregg Brandyberry, Partner at Wildfire Commerce and former CPO at GlaxoSmithKline.

The Keynote Address on the 20th in San Francisco will be delivered by Ron Carcamo, CPO at Yahoo! and former CFO. Ron was noted as a CPO on the Rise in 2010.

Ron & Gregg are both exceptional leaders and exceptional speakers. We are lucky to have them.

Although the web team is a little behind on updating the actual agendas, they (the agendas) are in my view, quite stellar and should not disappoint any procurement executive who plans to attend. I hope to meet you there!
